1-2-3 - Countdown to Stress Management - Secrets of the Past

by Elizabeth Bohorquez, RN, C.Ht on 2007-09-29

When heightened stress reaction it is very important to have a look at the past.  This is best accomplished by disassociating & then observing as an interested by-stander.  You can do this alone or with a therapist. It helps to go back to family of origin-files & looking at them in-depth.  These can be found on your time line, or by asking your subconscious mind librarian to assist you… Elizabeth Bohorquez, RN, C.Ht

Sarah:  I have little to no recollection of my past.  Is there some way I can benefit without actively remembering?  How can I know if this works?

There are many people who have little or no recollection of parts of their early life.  There are many reasons for this and sometimes counseling or hypnotherapy can help to open those areas, but even if that doesn’t happen it is possible to achieve some benefits from working on the time line.

MIND EXERCISE

There are many beautiful working images for regressing and your own subconscious mind will present some of these to you if you ask.  One that my students seem to like is called the “train ride.”  After relaxing deeply and tilting the eyes up, notice that you are at the train station, purchasing a ticket to go back in time.  The ticket master presents you with many tickets, so if your past persons would like to return they certainly can.  As this is your personal train, the seats are empty.  The train pulls out of the station and you can watch your past outside the windows.  Whenever you choose you can ask the train to stop.  You can get out and visit with the individual, present gifts of self-love, self- forgiveness, self-compassion or any others.  If you like, you can ask this part of you to join the journey.  There is no need to get involved with issues or to even know what they are if you don’t want to.  The purpose of this exercise is to simply get in touch with your self in a kind and gentle way.   Treating your past with love, compassion, support and acceptance can shift your present experiences.
