There are many casino gamblers who are very superstitious while they playing casino games. So in some ways superstitions are an essential part of casino gambling. Superstitions refer to the activities of players, of things that casino players do or don’t do thinking that the actions increase their chances of winning or make them feel luckier.

Many superstitious casinos players play with their favorite lucky number or carrying a certain good luck charm. But, most of these things don't affect the outcome of the casino games.

How can player's good luck charm affect the roll of the dice in craps? How can playing with favorite number affect the spin on the wheel in roulette games? How does wearing layer’s favorite shirt affect the outcome of the spin of the slot machine reels?

The superstitious actions don't really affect the outcomes of the casino games. But, the superstitious actions and good luck charms make the player feel better psychologically. Player feels lucky and so he plays with good mood and positive attitude.

If casino player is playing a luck based casino game, there is nothing wrong with something that makes him feel luckier. If he is playing casino game of skill, his more positive approach may make him play better and so he wins.

Superstitions do have a value if players are kept in perspective and not blown out of proportion. Their value is that they make the casino player feel better and as such player is more pleasant for other players to be around.
