by A.Caxton on 2007-09-22

There are a lot of reasons you may be looking into decorating a bathroom. Perhaps you have just bought a new home or moved into a new apartment, or maybe your existing bathroom is looking a little drab and needs a face lift. There are lots of places to look for new ideas for upgrading or redecorating a bathroom.

If you rent your place, you may not have as much freedom to do what you want as you would in your own home, In addition, you may not want to put a lot of money into permanent changes that you will just be doing for someone else's benefit. But there are a number of things that you can do without the landlord's permission and without spending too much money. Many simple but fun and inexpensive bathroom decorating ideas can be found in many sources. One of the best sources is home decorating magazines. There, you may find a theme or a color that appeals to you, and you can use that as your basis for adding your own touches.

If you own your own home or condo, you will be able to do a lot more to your bathroom. Besides changing the color of the walls and Eddington new towels, curtains, and accessories, you can completely update the room with new sink, flooring, towel racks, lighting, etc. After consulting the decorating magazines, go to your local home improvement center and you can really get some ideas about the changes you want to make. You may find a sink, or style of tiles that will set the stage for a completely new look.

If you are lucky enough to be building a brand new home, you are only limited by your imagination. You can pick out every detail of the bathroom, from the floor tiles, to the tub style, to all of the fixtures. Imprint your own personal style, whether it is simple or fancy. Many times a homeowner designing his own bathroom will start with the tiles to set the tone and style of the room. Today's tiles come in such a wide array of colors, shapes and sizes, that you are sure to find the perfect one for you and use it as a central theme in your room.

If you are one of the even luckier ones to have a large sized bathroom, you will have a lot of choices available to you than you would with a smaller bathroom. You can even put a piece of furniture in the room to make an interesting statement, such as a chest for towels, or a chair or dressing table. For quick and easy decorating focal points, check out your local crafts store. A beautiful silk flower display in colors to complement your bathroom scheme will add a lovely touch.

Another little thought of source for bathroom decorating ideas are your family and friends. You may have been in one of their bathrooms and admired the decor. You can be inspired by it, but you may not want to copy it exactly, just use some of the ideas as a basis for your own bathroom decorating ideas.
