Another night sitting in front of the TV with nothing worthwhile to watch. Wouldn't it be great if you could download TV programs that you used to enjoy watching.

Remember the great old shows we used to watch, shows like Third Rock from The Sun, or Miami Vice and even old classics like Gunsmoke. But unfortunately, these days it seems that if the program is not a crime / police show or heaven forbid a reality TV show, then it does not get mentioned.

Personally, I have grown tired of being shocked, disturbed or distressed when I am trying to relax in front of the TV. As for watching some wannabe celebrity trying to find a spouse, well we won't even bother going there.

To answer the obvious question. Yes, there was violence in some of the old shows, but it was pretty unrealistic, and more importantly not created to specifically shock and distress the viewer. The average person is exposed to more than enough distressing information on TV news without having to be bombarded with it in the form of entertainment.

Ironically the solution to this problem for us old fashioned viewers, comes in the form of technology. It is now possible to download a lot of the old TV programs and movies to your computer, and then fairly simple to copy these programs to disk and watch them using your DVD player.

Getting access to a site where you can download TV programs and movies, will go a long way to solving the problem of what to watch tonight.
