Exclusive Interview: Cassandra Watson, 3rd Eliminated Model On America's Next Top Model, Cycle 8

by Groshan Fabiola on 2007-09-22

Another girl has been axed on the reality show America’s Next Top Model cycle 8 and she comes in the form of Cassandra Watson. In an exclusive interview with BuddyTV, she expressed her sentiments regarding her Top Model experience.

Although she previously worked with an agency called Seattle Models Guild, she never really imagined herself on America’s Next Top Model. It’s a good thing someone approached her while she was shopping and convinced her to audition on the popular show. Luckily, she got accepted and became part of the 13 finalists. But despite her potential, not to mention her amiable personality, she was eliminated over Diana O'Connell on the episode entitled "The Girl Who Cries All the Time."

During her inclusion on America’s Next Top Model, Watson encountered a lot of difficulties especially when it comes to "sharing" the house with the other contestants. Aside from tiring shoots and painstaking schedules which only leaves room for little sleep, she had to share food, the bathroom, and the phone among other things which was quite a challenge for the 24-year old college student. Watson remained calm and pleasing despite the very competitive environment. She attributes her optimistic outlook in life to her mother’s upbringing, and most especially because she "puts God first" above everything else.

Even though Watson was eliminated early, she admits that she got a lot out of her Top model stint. Aside from her groovy makeover, which she keeps until now, she learned many things about herself and what to improve on. In fact, she found the comments and criticisms of the judges to be very constructive. As always, she remains positive about her future even if she was not hailed a top model. She even plans to get back on track by working with her former agency to pursue modeling.
