How I started to write articles

by Sharon T on 2007-09-23

How to start writing articles when u have no idea! I had spent the last 20 years of my life in sales and marketing positions and had been told by a friend to get into writing articles but where to begin. I was so scared I had never done this before and didn't know where to start. Apart from writing essays and dabbling in a little of writing captions for advertising to help out a friend that was it! Your worst enemy is always yourself and i had a fear of making a fool of myself and people laughing at my attempts. So I bit the bullet as they say and just did it. HOW!

First of all I went online to see what other people were doing with their articles, what was being published and what made them so good. In other words why would I want to read them - basically - keep them easy for the average person to read and make them interesting. What subjects do they write about, do your homework and take notes as you go to add into your article. Just try to keep it in your own words and of course original. I spent so much time reading other articles it gave me the confidence to realize you didn't have to be a genius nor was it rocket science! Just plain communication and doesn't everyone do this every day. It is just talking to people but on the net - even shy people can do this It's all about having a CAN DO attitude.

I then went to my favourtie ebook superstore cbdeluxe to find subjects to write about and found a wealth of information there. All I had to do was to find something that was familiar to me the first time out. Something I was comfortable with and had a little knowledge on. Best way to start.

Next let's go to the subject matter. Just let it flow as if you are talking to another person. Keep going back to see it you yourself are interested in what you have written...You can't please everyone and never will. I had to ask myself why I was doing this and it was to overcome a fear of the unknown and prove I could do it. What benefit was it to someone who read my article - That was a simple answer - if I could do it surely anyone with a push could - so let' hope I've pushed you.
- again look at ebook superstores namely cbdeluxe to see what's happening out there and to keep up to date with the latest subjects people are interested in.

Good luck - have fun!
