Internet Home Business-Register Your Domain Early To Get Marketing Advantage

by Arun Pal Singh on 2007-09-23

Domain name registration is important part of your internet home business. A domain name gives identity to your business and essential to set up a website for business. When should you go and register your business domain name.

The question is often asked but the answer is not that straightforward. A lot of people prefer to choose a domain name right at the moment when they decide to go into business. However, many wait till they have created a concrete business plan. Still many would like to wait and see the product completed before they rush to domain name registrar.

Different groups we just mentioned give their own reasoning for their choice. Each one argues about pros and cons of their own timing.

Early jumpers say they would want to capitalize on their timing lest the name should become unavailable in future. The other group says they would want every thing to be in place before they try the domain name registration. Things might need to be revised, they mention.

If you ask me, a domain name should be registered after you have made a clear business plan and do not expect any further changes thereof. Once you are clear what business you are going to do, you should go and register the domain name related to your business.

This also puts you in advantage from marketing standpoint. You can actually capitalize the lead time in promoting your domain name and business. Let us see how.

After you have registered the domain, you should not let it lie idle. While the product is being created, you should start advertising your universal resource locator. Create a one page website and publish it. It should contain information about your upcoming products and your business.

Start advertising now. This would give you huge marketing advantage. You can advertise in forums, web articles, classifieds. All of them are free and would help to generate a good amount of traffic.

You can set up a blog and start posting information related to your business. Blog is another good source of traffic and would also build your readership.

You also can get free autoresponder account and capture email address so that your subscribers can be offered a prelaunch discount.

If you simultaneously build you traffic and list while you are creating your product it would give you huge push when you actually begin.

Remember! Marketing is blood life of your business. Earlier you start, better it would it.
