Hey there, my name is Johnny and I'm an eBook. Over the next few minutes I'm going to tell you about myself, where I come from and how I got where I am today. I know this is slightly different to the usual articles you will read about eBooks, for example, “What Is An eBook” or “How To Write Your First eBook” or “Using eBooks To Boost Traffic And Sales”, but I think you will agree that it gives a different perspective about me and my kind and also how the eBook revolution is helping to shape the world.

I was conceived as a jumble of thoughts and ideas in the mind of my creator. He was always one who preferred to share information out of personal satisfaction rather than for financial gain (however, due to my success, I have indirectly helped him, via increased site traffic, to achieve financial freedom and gain the confidence to create more in my likeness… but hey, that’s a story for another day). So from conception to the mature and well traveled eBook I am today, is really quiet a straight forward, but exciting, series of steps. From the initial expansion of thoughts and ideas through research and background work; to carefully structuring and composing the subject matter; to proofreading, spelling and grammar checks; and finally to creating a title and cover page that gives a clear indication of what I am about… all in all, the stuff that has molded me into the eBook I am today.

But do you know what my favorite part was and still is? Not so much the promotional aspects that put me onto the world stage, i.e.
- I was submitted to many websites and directories
- I was announce on message boards and email discussion lists
- my creator gave me my own page on his website and it wasn’t long before several search engine spiders found me
- my creator also wrote an article about me and submitted it to several article directories
but something much more exciting. Shall I give you a hint? Have you ever been on a trampoline and had that feeling of weightlessness as you fly through the air? Or had a ride on a huge roller-coaster where it felt like you hit mach 1 while descending from the stars? Now imagine magnifying those sensations by 3 orders of magnitude… now that’s the thrill of a lifetime and I get to do it over and over again. So every time that download button is hit, I get whisked half way around the world in just a few seconds, and sometimes through several mediums along the way (i.e. satellite, fiber optic, twisted pair, etc) depending on the communication protocols adhered to while making the remote site host connection to your PC.

And more often than not, it doesn’t end there - the cycle starts again. The resell rights attached to me allow the purchaser to do some further promotional work, and it’s only a matter of time before that download button is hit again. And before you know it, like a spiders web, I’m spreading my message to every corner of the globe!!
