Types Of Handbags
by Cathy Peterson on 2007-09-22We shall now see the different types of handbags available in the market.
Accordion: In this type of handbags, there is room for capacity expansion depending on the requirement. These bags consist of 2 or 3 pouches fastened to each other by stitching.
Baguette: This type of bags consists of a shoulder strap enabling it to be carried under the arm. They are long, small and narrow in shape.
Pouchette: This is just a small bag for women and must be held by hand.
Pompadour: These are small pouches worn with a cord around your neck and are used for carrying small items.
Balantine: These are suspended from a long cord, such that it swings at your knee length. They may be made of leather, fabric or metal.
Rucksack/Backpack: These bags have two buckled straps to hold the bag in place on your back. These are mainly used by teenager and school children.
Bucket Bag: This bag is shaped like a bucket and used to carry all type of things.
Reticule: This bag is used to carry provisions or tools. It may be comprised of string, net or mesh.
Purses: These are large pouches which are used even today.
A good handbag today is one which helps to carry all your personal items and also look stylish at the same time. The main thing is that the bag should match with the color of the dress worn. Otherwise, it can look very odd and degrades the appearance of the person. The black bug is the color which is mostly used because it can suit with most dresses even for men and women.
Apart from this, there must be enough sections in the bag to put your items in an order. Too small bags lead to mix up of all the items and result in confusion while selecting a specific item from the bag.
