eBay & Getting Your Customer Their Product With Drop Shipping

by Anonymous on 2007-09-23

If you wish to make money on ebay and run an eBay business, and even make a full time living from it, you can very easily make that dream come true. You don't even need a product of your own to sell. eBay provides people who want to quit their corporate nine-to-five jobs with a way to make a pretty good living, and without having to put up a lot of start-up capital. This can be made possible with the help of drop shippers. Drop shippers send merchandise to the customers of business owners. If you have an eBay business, you are a business owner. This allows you to offer a wide variety of products in your eBay store, without having the need to stock all of the products!

You just have to set up your auction, and then sell the product. Then you pass the customer’s information on to the drop shipping company. The drop shipping company does the rest. They will even use your company information and company logo if you provide it to them. When your customer receives their product, they will have no idea that your company didn’t really send it. The drop shipping company will label, package, and ship the products that you sell. This allows you more time to set up even more auctions, for even greater profits.

You must first establish a good relationship with several different drop shipping companies if you want to become successful. At first, most drop shipping companies will require you to pay for the products that your customers order before they are shipped. You will need to fill orders in a timely manner, so it would be best to pay for the items with a credit card for fast service. Eventually, you'll be able to have the drop shipping company fill your orders, and then just bill you for them later.

When you set up your eBay auctions, make sure that your reserve price is set higher than the price that the drop shipping company will be charging you for that item. The idea here, of course, is to earn a profit. Depending on the product that you are selling, a markup of about 10% should be about right. You should do some research to see if the product is selling for any lower in another eBay auction, or through other online sources.

By starting an eBay business using drop shipping, there is essentially no financial risk involved. The item will be sold before you even pay the drop shipper for it. This is one of the few businesses where you can actually turn a profit before you have expenditures.
